When reporting an issue, please include:

  • The URL where the issue occurred

  • Steps to reproduce the issue

  • Your browser version (Chromium-based)

  • Screenshots or screen recordings if possible

We do not currently guarantee response times, but we aim to respond as quickly as possible during Alpha.

Quick Help

Installing Canopi

  • Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store (Chromium-based browsers supported).

  • Sign in using Google.

  • Open the side panel from the toolbar or Chrome side panel menu.


Sign-in Issues

  • Make sure pop-ups are enabled for Google authentication.

  • Try signing out and back in.

  • Restart your browser.


Notifications Not Working

  • Check Chrome notification permissions.

  • Confirm notifications are enabled in Canopi settings.


Presence and Visibility

  • You control whether you appear visible on a page.

  • Live cursor sharing must be explicitly enabled.

  • If you do not appear visible, check the Visibility tab.


Troubleshooting Checklist

  • Update to the latest Chromium-based browser version.

  • Confirm extension permissions are enabled.

  • Disable conflicting extensions.

  • Restart browser.

  • Reinstall Canopi if necessary.


Known Limitations (Alpha)

  • Chromium-based browsers only.

  • Not supported in Incognito mode.

  • Not supported on localhost.

  • Works on standard webpages and PDFs.

Communities are governed by community-defined norms and AI-assisted moderation. If you encounter harmful or abusive behavior, email info@canopi.live with relevant details.
